Dandelions Nursery School provides a stimulating and creative play environment where each activity is designed to capture your child’s imagination –whether it be learning to count dinosaur bones they have excavated from the sandpit, or using printing to practice naming shapes. We are a small 18 place Nursery and we strongly believe that every child is unique and that their learning journey should follow a pattern that best suits their individual personality.
Our curriculum is based on the national EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) with an emphasis on building children’s confidence and self-esteem and encouraging them to question and explore. In addition to all of our own messy activities, we invite specialist teachers to join us for short sessions during each term (children’s yoga, music).
We believe children flourish and grow in a loving, creative and fun environment and experimenting through play is the best way to learn. We believe that children’s play can be best supported and extended by adults who use the children’s interests to further their learning. We place a special emphasis on supporting the development of children’s self confidence and self-esteem to provide them with the skills to question and become brave learners.
“Too often we give children answers to remember, rather than problems to solve” – Roger Lewin.

Hannah has over 15 years experience of teaching in Primary Schools with a special focus on the Early Years. Prior to having her daughter, she worked at one of London’s top Nursery Schools. Hannah always intended to open her own nursery school and following the birth of Alara seemed like the perfect time. She brings her own unique approach to children’s learning with lots of fun, adventurous and imaginative play.
Amy has been a local to the Kensal Rise area for over 20 years. Having worked in multiple start-up businesses over the past 12 years, Amy felt it was the natural progress to open her own business. And joining forces with Hannah and combining their skill sets seemed like the perfect match. Amy has undertaken trainings in EYFS and really enjoys working with the children as well as working on the business behind the scenes. Amy couldn’t be happier to finally be running her own business in her local neighborhood.
We look forward to welcoming you to Dandelions Nursery School.
